Use an everyday mirror
A compact makeup mirror is often enough. A small standing mirror or a hand mirror propped securely can work too.
Use the regular side of a makeup mirror. A magnifying side can bend the image and make tracking harder.
Simple setup · about 2 minutes
Use a purpose-built reflector or a small mirror you may already have. Angle it once, check the preview, and you are ready to practice.
Try a household mirror first—you do not need to buy anything to see if TypeSight works for you.
The only goal
It does not have to look perfect. TypeSight just needs a clear, steady view of the keys and your hands.
Choose what is easiest
Both options do the same job. Start with what you have; choose the reflector later only if you want a setup that is faster to repeat.

A purpose-built reflector clips near the laptop webcam and points it down toward your keyboard. It is a convenient choice for regular practice.

Set it up
There is no measurement to get right. Use the live preview and adjust by sight.
Clip a reflector over the webcam. For a regular mirror, place it below the webcam—usually near the laptop hinge or back edge of the keyboard—with the reflective side facing the camera. Make sure it cannot slip.
Open live setup, then slowly tilt or move the mirror until the full keyboard and both hands appear. Let the keyboard fill most of the preview without cutting off its edges.
Use soft, even room light. Avoid bright glare on the keys or mirror. Once the preview looks good, stop moving the laptop, camera, and mirror.
